sometimes when I am working on a character design i ignore proportions, they can distract me as crazy as it sounds. One can always go back to fix it. When it comes to the NCPD I really did not want to include them, the story focus is the dog society. They were added because in reality every world has a form of police and government, and in reality if something is a threat they will seek to capture to understand it.
There are so many cool Ideas that I would have for some NCPD agents but I understand that they have to take a far backseat to the main characters. It still does not stop me from coming up with some cool designs.
When watching some YouTube videos, I came across some cool theories on costume design. One idea that really stuck out to me, was the covering of ones eyes. The movie topic mentioned Spiderman or Watchmen exploring the history of masks and their psychological effects. Something subconscious happens when you cover someones eyes as they lose humanity, Identity and Intimacy.
I can see this pattern repeated in most bad guy grunts, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Incredible s and much more.
Nope Nope Nope, don't reinvent the wheel, a gun is a gun.
Pacing can be frustrating, however, it is a great feeling when you can land a scene in 1 page. Previously to this draft page I would have Harley talking for too long, to the point of taking up two pages. I realized the most important thing was to quickly communicate that they are going up the stairs and Rex is hurt. This happens in six panels which is good.
I'm pretty proud of the shading in the second panel, I at first drew Harley holding a mouse in her mouth to symbolize items she has collected. I later decided that Harley would look cuter sitting like a kindergartner in her blissful happiness, unaware that she is about to get snatched.
