sometimes when I am working on a character design i ignore proportions, they can distract me as crazy as it sounds. One can always go back to fix it. When it comes to the NCPD I really did not want to include them, the story focus is the dog society. They were added because in reality every world has a form of police and government, and in reality if something is a threat they will seek to capture to understand it.
There are so many cool Ideas that I would have for some NCPD agents but I understand that they have to take a far backseat to the main characters. It still does not stop me from coming up with some cool designs.
When watching some YouTube videos, I came across some cool theories on costume design. One idea that really stuck out to me, was the covering of ones eyes. The movie topic mentioned Spiderman or Watchmen exploring the history of masks and their psychological effects. Something subconscious happens when you cover someones eyes as they lose humanity, Identity and Intimacy.
I can see this pattern repeated in most bad guy grunts, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, Incredible s and much more.
Nope Nope Nope, don't reinvent the wheel, a gun is a gun.
Pacing can be frustrating, however, it is a great feeling when you can land a scene in 1 page. Previously to this draft page I would have Harley talking for too long, to the point of taking up two pages. I realized the most important thing was to quickly communicate that they are going up the stairs and Rex is hurt. This happens in six panels which is good.
I'm pretty proud of the shading in the second panel, I at first drew Harley holding a mouse in her mouth to symbolize items she has collected. I later decided that Harley would look cuter sitting like a kindergartner in her blissful happiness, unaware that she is about to get snatched.
At first i liked the idea of putting sketches for the chapter breaks, but looking at enamel pins this was more appealing to me. There is already a lot of detail in the book as well as chapters, I felt that this style would give readers a break.
Rex is displaying his neck strength for rules are rules and they will be obeyed.
Not all dogs are blessed with the thumb mutation, some make due with their mouth.
More Buildings in the City are sculpted than Built through a method seen in the story. I wish I could have shown it in book one but have to be careful of the world building trap. Book 2 or 3 is possible.
Chicken Curry Roti is the best type of Roti. This was my favorite lunch choice during High school. Chicken Curry Roti is enjoyed by many dogs in Inverted Fangs. I tried to cook an Oxtail Roti but I was not as experienced as my Grandma. Tasha is made after a lady I use to talk to walking home from school. She was from Trinidad and we would have funny debates about Jamaican cooking vs Trini cooking.
Tasha is not a main character,However, I always loved Dutches from the Aristocats. Dutches always had a beautiful collar that I took inspiration from, and gladly applied it to Tasha.
The dogs often use a type of seed to exchange goods. This is not the only payment system but it is the most common. The seeds can only be received through a bank.
